Can anyone explain to me what "insert tail data" means, which is located in the plugin chainer window. To me, it meant if the original file was not long enough, and I put a large reverb effect on something it would automatically insert the data at the end of the file for me. I took a snare drum hit and was adding a huge reverb with a long tail, which ended up being longer than the original data window, if it was fully processed. So by selecting "insert tail data", I was thinking it would do just that, insert the tail data of my reverb? It didn't do that though, it just cut it off at the end of the data file. |

Which reverb? It only does it with plugins that have that feature built in. Rverb does not, for instance. True verb does, but you have to specify the length in the plugin window. SF Reverb does, so try with that. Also, try on a selection in the middle of a file. I spent quite a while testing this in beta to make sure it all worked and I was pretty sure they had gotten out all the kinks. |

Actually Charles, it was the Waves Trueverb that I was trying this out on. I'm using v4.10.1998. It has a button for Tail/No Tail, but I don't see an option where to enter the length of the tail. I have it set to tail, and the tail get's cut-off as I mentioned. |

hmmm. I have yet to get the tail feature to work as I expect in Trued verb, but I'm using version 3.2 (and 3.5 beta). Did you try any others, just to narrow it down? |

Well, it works with the Sonic Foundry reverb. The thing is I never use that one, it doesn't even have an option of Mono IN to Stero OUT. I guess, I'll just have to do it the way I have in the past and add some silence onto the end of the data window. |

Yikes, found further problems trying it out with TC Native Reverb. It actually worked as far as inserting a tail, but I didn't get what I was hearing when I hit the preview button, after I hit the process button. I'm using a mono snare hit as I previously said. Then I insert TC Native Reverb, I hit preview, an the signal comes in mono and leaves stereo as it should. You then hit "process" and it turns it into a mono file, like the original , and sounds nothing like the preview, because the L/R stereo information of the reverb got combined together into a mono mix. So then I clicked on the mono button of TC Native reverb. Doing that gave me something that didn't sound anything like my original snare hit when I hit preview. When I hit the process button........CRASH!!!! Also, here's another problem. Open up the effects chainer with any plugin. Hit process. Now goto the edit menu and do an "undo". The PLAY button remains inactive in the chainer window, and you have to click on the "bypass" button to make it reactive, or close the window out. That's what they get for not inviting me to the BETA party :-)~ |

the preview button. But I think they also fixed some mono to stereo stuff, so the retail version should be ok. I downloaded the TC Native Demo 2.0 and tried what you said and had no problems. I think the retail version is just fine. c. |
