Nero by "Ahead" software is my favorite 3rd party CD burning software. It is rock solid compared to "cheezy CD creator". WWW.NERO.COM

Ditto on the Nero.

What problems are you having with Easy CD Creator? I've been using it for years, and aside from a very occasional coaster (probably less than 1%) i've never had a bit of trouble with it.

Chien:
Obviously, your question is not aimed at me, but, I'd like to comment. I own CDC5 . . . decided to step up from the version supplied with my external HP burner. While I've not experienced problems, per se, I'm not wild about the interface. The opening screen presents me with what appear to be five different aps. I only need one. I am probably at fault for not exploring the function of those "aps" but, Nero, for my money, is more straight forward.

Additionally, I've a collection of coasters where audio that I recorded live was rejected by CDC for copyright concerns (static on the newly burned discs), where Nero has never done that to me.

I've also used VV30 and WaveLab to burn CD's.

As interfaces go, I much prefer Wavelab, but, it, too, decides to reject some of my files as copyright protected (they aren't). I'm not sure why this is so, but, Nero has never ruined a cd on me (yet!!).

That's why it will always occupy a space on my HD.

My 2 cents.

I would have to agree with most people in this thread that NERO is the way to go. It's not fancy at all, but does the job right. So for your best dollar, I would go ahead a purchase NERO.

Oh, and one more comment. The "retail" version of Nero (the one you purchase in a box at the store, not the DL version) has the ability to burn to multiple burners. The online advertisements did not make this clear (I thought the feature was included in the DL version).

I can't say that I'd jump to use that function, but, I suppose if you're duping discs, have more than one CDRW drive, it might be handy.

I tried Easy CD 5 (OK), I use to use Nero, better. Depends what kind of CD's and maybe soon DVD's you're going to burn. If you are talking multimedia dn not just audio CD's right now I fell head over heels in love with Ulead's Movie Factory. Slick wizard, burns everything. Advanced options like chapters for VCD and SVCD, yea VCD and SVCD, not just DVD is fast, simple and fun. You can add your own music to menu/chapter pages. Difficult if not impossible using Easy or Nero. It also it very affordable at $45 retail.

What I think is an advantage is you render out using Vegas Video and your favorite template, assuming your making VCD, SVCD or DVD's. You click on the file(s) you want to burn, make a main menu, sub menu for each video. Immediately you get a go, no go if they meet specs unlike Easy and Nero that sometimes accept none compliant files and you don't know to after the fact and you got a coaster. The demo is fully functional and don't add any logo or anything so you can give it a real test.
