Audio glitches in F/X plug-ins...

Hi -
A VF newbie, here (but learning quickly).
The audio f/x plug-ins work great in VF2. They're also made available in Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, my preferred audio editing software. However, in Pro Audio, the VF audio plug-ins are branded as "demo versions" and therefore beep and click when in use. In VF, there's no "demo version" designations on them and they work properly.
I originally tried the demo version of VF1 - was immediately impressed and registered. Soon, I upgraded to VF2c and uninstalled VF1 before installing the upgrade. Is it possible the original demo versions are still lurking on my system and are somehow still linked to Pro Audio?
I don't know if this is a VF issue or a Pro Audio issue...
Anyone?
Thnx.

I inquired about this one time and SF stated it is because the Plug Ins are not all true DX plugins. And as such when a third party software accesses them, they run as Demos.

Not clear on why it doesn't work, but I have tried a few different audio programs with the same results.

Thnx, Dave - I appreciate the quick response.
If they're not going to work in Pro Audio, I'd like to remove them from the Pro Audio menus (I really HATE navigating menus - the less clutter on them, the better). Any idea how to do this? I'm not a computer novice and I know my way around the registry fairly well; is there a way to disengage these f/x from Pro Audio only?

I believe there is a register for DX plugins, but I think it is global. If you delete a plugin from here, the computer will not recognize it, thus it won't be available to any software.

But don't take my word for it. You might do a search on the web for DX plugin info, or maybe someone else has a positive answer.

Dave -
I've heard from SF Tech Support - they tell me it should work. They said it could be because when I registered I didn't provide enough contact info and advised me to re-register, which I did. I was then emailed a .reg file and activated it.
Naturally, it made no difference. I emailed SF again to fill them in. They then sent me a form to fill out with all the details of the problem and send it back.
The tech rep. Ted found it very odd that this was happening. So apparently these plug-ins are supposed to work in other apps.
We'll see...

Let me know if they get it working. They told me it couldn't.

Here's the latest from SF tech support:
"This is actually a known issue, and it will be fixed for the next release of Video Factory. Unfortunately I do not have a timeline for that release."
So a remedy will be available in the (near?) future.
Moving right along...

Thanks for the update. That is different that what they told me, but I like your answer better.
