In Sound Forge> Options> Preferences> Wave> :

Record: SB Live Wave Device is chosen (others: MS Sound Mapper, Modem #1 Line Record)

(Interpolate record postition for inaccurate devices is unchecked)

(Reord position bias is set at 0)

Total buffer size= 768kb, Preload size=0.....when i try recording from streams nothing happens

ok i went to another forum and here's what some one told me.....

"where and HOW do you play it??? like a song in Media Player??? Don't PLAY it...OPEN it in Soundforge..RECORD is only for external sources like a tape deck plugged into your soundcard" - his exact words....

but some one else told me this on another forum.....

"A little tip on recording any audio that your windows PC can play:
use your audio control panel for your card and set it to record it's own line out signal. With the normal windows control (double click the speaker icon on the bottom left of your screen) go to 'options' 'properties' and choose 'recording', click 'stereo out' on the list then click OK. Then tick 'Stereo Out' on the window move the slider up. Now if you record with any application (ie, cool edit, sound forge or even just windows recorder), you'll get the audio your PC is playing at the time. This is great for ripping internet radio (especially if they're spinning your tune " - his exact words

Another quote from some one

"Well..if you want to record like THAT, you'd need a cable from your speaker out to your line in (but even if that works, it's not good....for audio-streams like shoutcast, get a WinAmp plug in and do it that way. SoundForge CoolEdit etc. are mainly WAVE-editors, so don't bother" OK, so i'll get WinAMP/ShoutCast....
