Subject:general questions about Acid

I currently have Acid Express and considering the upgrade to Acid pro 3 -
I want to record Acoustic/Vocals

is this a job for vegas audio? I want to do 2 tracks at once, then apply eq and effects. - If two tracks aren't possible then one at a time will do
Im confused about the whole Acid/Vegas audio thing. What would the Vegas Audio LE be used for? Sound Forge? Ideally, I would like to record into Acid along with drum sample loops etc.

Also, is anyone here using that Oxygen 8 MIDI controller/keyboard thing? I am completely in the dark about MIDI. I would like to be able to play the hits off a drum sample(WAV format) CD-ROM through the keyboard. Is this even possible? It would be awesome to do that and record it in real time!

sorry about the ignorance of this post, I just sold my vs880 and trying to get started with PC recording

Thanks!!!

first...Vegas is more of a video app then for audio...although it still does what Acid Pro 3 would do..just not as much.

i suggest getting AP3. its very powerful for a resonable price!

as for the drum sampling...no. you cant do that with Acid Pro.

to do that, you would need a VSTi compatible program(orion pro, fruity loops, logic etc. etc.) and use either a drum sampler (battery) or a regular sampler(halion).

If want to record two mono tracks at once, then you can do that with Acid. You just have to record a "stereo" track (for instance, vocal on one side and guitar on the other) in Acid and then split the two sides in Sound Forge.

Sound Forge is used mainly for down and dirty audio editing.

Vegas has multi-tracking capabilities, in other words you can record as many tracks at a time as your hardware (soundcard) will allow. There are soundcards out there with 8 or more inputs.

Dog,

Acid Pro 3.0 Can record vocal (audio) tracks in the same fashion as Vegas Audio. Vegas is a tight app too. They have Vegas Video, and Vegas Audio.

I use a combo of Acid Pro 3.0 and Vegas Audio for Vocal Tracks.

I moved out of this setup a little while ago cuz of Reason 1.0. You can use the wave files for the drum sampling thing. Also the Basses, Samples and More!! I make the beats in Reason and Acid together, then record Vocals in Cubase VST/32 5 using rewire. It's way tighter!!! Check the web about this!!

vegas audio is no longer available but vegas video has the same audio capabilities. the main difference between acid & vegas is that acid is a loop sequencer and vegas is a digital audio multi-track recorder.
