Although I'm a big SF fan (Acidpro3, VV3, SFXP5) I'm just about to buy Kontakt, the new sampler from Native Instruments. Now my question may be naive, but how does SF6 compare with Kontakt ? It seems to me that SF is really your "single-sound, single-note and mastering" sampler, whereas programs like Kontakt (and most other soft-samplers) are for playing music. Am I way off here and not recognising the potential of SF ? And as other soft-samplers increase their features to function as sample players (ie piano etc) as well as mastering, doesn't that make them a more versatile option than SF ? |

Soundforge is a 2 track audio editor whereas Kontact is a full blown software synth. The two apps could not be farther apart in function or form. Cheers, Cuzin B |
