Subject:Wrong meta info in .wma files

I inadvertently created some windows media(.wma)streaming audio files with the wrong author name stored within the file. This shows up when someone plays the file with Microsoft Windows Media Player. Is there a way to change this without suffering a recompression data loss in the audio? If I load the file in Sound Forge, change the author name and resave, the double compression ruins the sound quality. |

Once a file is compressed, there really isn't any way to retrieve the loss of data that's been thrown out to achieve compression. Unless you have the original WAV, I'm afraid you'll have to deal with compressing the file in WMA format again. Iacobus |

Download a product called WMAInfo from download.com . It allows you to edit the info from .wma and .mp3 files. It's a 30 day demo, but it's only $15 to register. |
