OT: Cinescore

I know this is off topic but this information is for anyone using Cinescore still like myself. I enquired with SCS about it's status, and they said: As Cinescore was discontinued prior to the sale to Magix it was not part of the sale. SCS's servers will continue to provide activations for this product as a result, and problems with activation of this product should be forwarded to SCS support.

So that's a good thing. It may not work integrated with Vegas anymore, but it stills works fine in standalone mode.

Or use an earlier version of VP.

Thanks for the info bigrock.

Despite a few attempts I never actually managed to make a tune out of Cinescore that made it to publication. I always had more luck with royalty-free tracks. The other day I stumbled upon Jukedeck, which aims to do a similar thing online. Haven't tried it yet.

Nick, what do you mean by "managed"? Did you find the workflow too complex?

Eh . . . Just tried JukeDeck and for sure it has some ease, but I still prefer CS as it will allow a deconstruction of a Theme; mixing in or out other parts of that theme; emphasizing individual phrases and be competent at adjusting my Work to fit Video length and in an intelligent way.

CineScore: It's what Video was made for!

bigrock,

Thanks for letting us Cinescore users know that we can still get this activated under SCS.

I really wish that SONY had released the Theme Packs so we could finish getting the libraries we wanted before they Pulled The Plug. I'm not sure how anyone could use a Theme Pack without the main software is beyond me, but they should have extended the sale of the Theme Packs longer

I wonder if this means that SIREN Jukebox will be activated via SCS servers as well instead of MAGIX? SIREN has been discontinued for so long I do not remember when they ended it. I still use this piece of software even today on a Windows 7 x64 system.

I bought a bunch of the theme packs when they were fire saleing them. One of the things I like about Cinescore over Smartsound is the licensing was clear and I was often left wondering if I was in the clear using a Smartsound file.

I just load it up Standalone and export a music wav in the length I need and import that into Vegas or whatever, Integration doesn't buy you a lot in the end.

I think I may have an extra license if anyone is interested.

It sounds like they plan on keeping the license activation at home for products not part of the sale.

I use it under Windows 10 64 bit = works just fine.

bigrock, I would be interested in acquiring the theme packs I don't have. Please PM me at drlumen[at]yahoo.com (regardless of all the spammers that have spoofed this address, I don't send spam)

I got Cinescore when it first came out. Not bad for a 1.0, but SCS never did anything with it.
I just got Magix Music Maker Premium last month, and employed it in a 48 Hour Film Project recently. That program works very well. And, Magix is taking over Vegas Pro, so that's an interesting coincidence...
