I'm going to start a audio forensics tutorial series, a repair of an audio track.

What I needing to know is, if you do basic wav file editing and you don't change the sample rate or bit depth, when saving the wav file, does SF Re-Dither the audio file?

Thanks!

Are you referring to some "Legal" processing ? - I don't comprehend the term "Forensics"

Surely any re-rendering causes changes ( Otherwise why do it? ), although shortening a clip might be one reason, of course. But wouldn't you want to Save it in the Same format? . . . . OR are you suggesting that even this will introduce unwelcome changes? . . . .
clearly this is something I may need to know / understand before we all go Magix-nuts.

I Use SF Studio10.

Forget the FORENSICS part, as you haven't answered my question.

I understand processing makes changes. What I asking is if the bit rate stays the same and bit depth, does SF use dithering on the resulting file?

Dithering occurs when the bit depth changes. That is your answer for wav (only).
