Subject:Acid Pro 7e vs NI's Komplete Kontrol

Hi,
I have a problem loading instruments (libraries) into Komplete Kontrol VST in Acid Pro 7. First 2-3 libraries go easy and smooth but then it slows down (when trying to load next library) and the message appears: "low on memory, try to purge samples".
Anyone familiar with this?
RAM is ok' and there are plenty of free resources (e.g. Acid project consumes some 85MBout of 8GB!) and I see no reason for running out of memory...
System: Win 7, i& 3,40GHz, 64bit, 8GB RAM.
Everything works perfectly in Acid except this issue.
Thanks!
Jacek

I use NI's Komplete Kontrol S61 and my DAW is Acip Pro 7. I have frequent crashes and memory issues, particularly when using Drum Lab and other instruments that require Kontakt. I've been on NI's support and community forums and all indications is that Acid can not handle some of the NI instruments because Acid is not a 64 bit software. My system specs are basically the same as yours and I'm running a clean install of Win 7. Couldn't tell you how many times I've been told, "You need to upgrade your DAW to something x64".

It sounds like your having more success with your setup than I am however.

I know this thread is specific to your question but as you're the only person I've come in contact with who uses Acid with KK I'd love to bounce some things off of you. This is from another post I made but haven't received any responses.

Knob adjustments on my midi keyboard (Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61) are not being recorded with Sony Acid Pro 7 for some reason. I load up Komplete Kontrol on track 1, select an instrument such as monarch or massive, arm the track to record and start playing. As I play I adjust the various knobs such as Color and FX back and forth and I hear the effect through the monitors as I spin the knob. The recorded midi track captures the notes just fine, as well as the instrument but it’s not recording the knob adjustments that I made as I was playing. However a few of the knob adjustments are captured such as Pan and Modulation. Am I missing something?

ACID Pro 7 is a 32-bit application and can only use 2GB of memory. So it doesn't matter that your computer has 8GB of RAM, ACID can only use 2GB. I'm guessing that large instrument libraries are eating this up rather quickly which is why you are running out of memory.

In Acid Pro 7 i use JBridge (also mentioned elsewhere in the forum) for Kontakt 5 and other ram intensive instruments like Omnisphere 2 with great success !
You need to install the 64bit version of the Kontakt plugin and use JBridge to patch the 64bit plugin, it makes a new dll "copy" of it that is 32bit. You point your Acid plugin folder to where you put your bridged plugin(s). Make sure you make a separate folder for the bridged plugin(s). In simple words, while the bridged plug is a 32bit dll, it "mirrors" its 64bit equivalent so it uses ram from the system and not from the daw. Therefore you overcome the 2gb limitation and the only limitation is your system max ram now. JBridge is at version 1.74 and costs about 15 euros, imho it would be well worth it even at double price, as for me it is a life saver.
You can find JBridge here: https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/
Beware the demo goes silent after 20 mins.
I hope this helps
Cheers

Wow this sounds like a great work around in lieu of changing DAWs.
