Subject:Open Music Studio 10 files in Acid Pro 7?

Is there any way to save a file in Music Studio 10 and open it in Pro 7? Studio 10 does not offer the option to render each track to a seperate file when saving like Pro 7 does. Also, opening both programs and copying and pasting does not transfer the files between the two. I have several projects in Studio 10 that I want to transfer to Pro 7 to utilize an external control surface for mixing.

Have you tried? Normally you can open Music Studio files in ACID Pro but since ACID Pro is stuck at version 7 and Music Studio is up to version 10, that might not work any longer.

Try it and see. if it doesn't work, you have your answer... (there is no way)

Although I know this isn't exactly how you want to do this, see if this will work for you. It works between 2 instances of Acid Music Studio 9 for me.
1 - Open an instance of Acid Music Studio 10 with one of the files you want to save in Acid Pro 7.
2 - Open an instance of Acid Pro 7.
3 - In AMS 10, select all tracks and events (Ctrl-A).
4 - Copy the contents to the clipboard (Ctrl-C).
5 - Move to the Acid Pro 7 instance and paste everything in (Ctrl-V).
6 - Save the file in Acid Pro 7.
7 - Repeat for the remaining files.

The important thing is to have both programs open at the same time. Most of the SonyCreativeSoftware programs clear the copy/paste buffer when exited.

We switch between AMS 10 and AP7 sometimes while waiting for AP8 (just foolin'). We go back and forth. We "Save As a zipped Acid file" including all the media. You'll get dialog boxes like "This project was created in another version ... blah, blah, blah ... " but we just click 'OK' through them even if some of the plugins or features we used are not available on the other box we're using. Maybe we're just lucky. BTW, Acid is the best thing that happened to our studio.
