Subject:Problem transposing MIDI files in AP7

Hello Sony people.

I'm returning to music production after a long lay-off.
I'm coming from Cubase VST32 5.1, I had thought AP7 was the answer - there are some similarities, and my system fits the low requirements!

Currently I'm using a demo (a week in) on a Vista clean re-install. (The boxed version is on its way from Thomann.) I'm generally impressed with the intuitive nature of the program and the clean GUI - but there's a snag!

I've been trying all the ways I can think of to transpose some MIDI files, or rather keep them transposed.
I open the MIDI file from AP7, transpose to the correct key, everything is all lovely.
I save it, open it, and it's reverted to the original key.
What's more it now refuses to transpose at all.
I have tried a few other files now without success.

I'm scratching my head here. I've searched the forum, but it doesn't seem a reported problem.

Have I missed something? Am I a complete numptie?

If not it would be very useful if you - more experienced Acid users - could let me know if this is an issue with AP7, or just the demo maybe, and if there is a workaround. It doesn't seem right!

Thanks - Pete

SOLVED
Thanks for your responses. All 0 of them!
It seems that transposing has to be done BEFORE assigning synths, VSTs etc.
So just open up your MIDI file from within ACID, and check the key out first.
