FX user's guide

Reading the several topics here, the following struck me: wouldn't it be nice to have a small user's guide for the several fx included as plug-in's with vegas ?
Nothing very fancy. just a pdf file explaining the general effect of the filter, plus the influence that the various sliders, buttons, etc. could have in the filter.
Maybe 1 or 2 images to get the point.
There could be one small pdf file for each fx in the library, or a tree-like help file, with a new branch added for each new filter.
I know that we have the "eye icon", but most of the times i don't really get inspiration from looking at that icon, much less fiddling with the controls.
And a User's Guide would be just great to inspire us doing new exploitations !!!

Have you tried Vegas online help?

You mean, FX help ? Yes, sometimes I do. But it is not practical because I usually work with 1-hour projects (.veg file about 800k) and whenever I use Help (or any other external application for that matter) Vegas chunks all the data again for circa 2 minutes, before giving up the control back to me again.
Very time-consuming, very boring.

The online help is good, but not all FX filters are covered. Example Color curves, unless I missed it.

Actually, all of the effects are covered in the online help, but you may have had trouble getting to some of them depending how you were trying to get there. Some of the effects hadn't been included in the index for version 3.0--they've all been added for the 3.0a release. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Additionally, the Applying Video Effects topic includes links to each plug-in's help topic.

Thanks,
Kevin

One other thing I forgot to mention: if you press Shift+F1, your mouse pointer will turn into a question mark and you can click any control in an effects dialog (or any dialog for that matter) to view a pop-up description of its function.

That's called What'sThis help, and it's handy when you need a quick, fairly terse answer.

Thanks,
Kevin
