Hi there!
This is not a question - this a solution! Almost drove myself nuts when suddenly VP13 started freezing completely when processing projects that contained multiple Quicktime (.mov) ProRes422 encoded files that were on my NAS drive ... the solution was very simple once I found it out!
All you need to do is:
1. Go to Options > Preferences ...
2. UNcheck from "General" tab: "Close media files when not the active application"
3. Apply changes
Let me know if this worked out for you, for me it saved me from a personal meltdown! :-)) This tip probably applies also to other Quicktime formats in addition to ProRes422 ones as well.
Happy editing! Let me know if this helped you out - I'd be interested to know if there are some additional bugs/oddities to hunt for ... :o)
