Subject:Sometimes MIDI Tracks With Data Don't Play

I'm not quite sure why this happens, but I've run into an interesting bug where sometimes MIDI tracks simply don't play.

1. New project
2. Insert MIDI track, Select a VSTi softsynth, Arm for record
3. Press record transport button and play some notes (you can hear them)
4. Press stop. See the notes in the piano roll
5. Press play from beginning. Nothing. No MIDI activity in the track meter at all.

Note that you can go into the piano roll of clip proprties and it won't play, but you can click on any note with the little speaker button turned on and it will play.

Clearly a bug, but it only happens sometimes. Not sure why.

Strangely if i duplicate the track, the new track WILL play.

We have heard of this before but have not been able to reproduce it in house.

When it happens, do the MIDI track meters show activity?

The next time it happens, edit a single note in the recorded MIDI data. Does play back resume?

Known bug.

Workaround : right clic on the midi clip > copy to new clip. Hit play again, should work now.

Happens with some particular VSTi.

Peter: There is no MIDI activity in the track strip meter when this happens. Strange. When I see it again I will most certainly edit a note and see what the results are.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I copied the track to a new track but it didn't change. I've deleted the notes and copied other notes that are playing properly to the same positions but no joy. I've drawn new notes into the same positions but it still happens. The note on/off velocities are the same as other notes that play properly. I can't work out what's going wrong.

I regularly experience nearly the same issue. I posted a thread on it but never got a response.

At random times my midi tracks stop producing sound. The meter on the track in the track list is moving as if to indicate that notes are being triggered but no sound comes out. Then I restart Acid pro 7 and everything works fine. But after a few minutes it happens again. The constant restarting is very disruptive to my workflow. Anybody have a suggestion as to how to resolve the issue?
