Video preview went blank

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced no video preview (just a black rectangle where the preview should be) in Vegas 12? I'm newly running Windows 10 and sometimes switch from my Lenovo notebook's internal screen to an external monitor. I can't definitively say that the video preview was or wasn't working before upgrading from Win 8.1 because I don't use Vegas a lot on this machine.

I haven't a clue on this. Hope someone has seen it and solved it!

Thanks,
Doug

You may have checked Options/Mute All Video.

Good suggestion, but that doesn't seem to be it. I tried toggling that and it does visibly darken the video tracks themselves, but the video preview still doesn't show anything when that option toggled back and forth. Once in a while, I can see a frame from the video if I move or resize the preview window, but it disappears quickly and things go blank again.

Could Windows or Vegas be sending the video to a "dead end" location? I have a two-monitor setup (notebook plus external monitor) but I am using the external only at this time - rather, I think am, at least...

Check your trimmer toggle and the split screen button
