Vegas 11 no longer starts

This is odd. I recently migrated my SSD to a larger SSD. All other software, including Windows itself, runs fine; there hasn't been any problem of any kind. The ONLY software that's a problem is Vegas 11 (64bit). When I click on the shortcut or the actual exe, nothing happens. If I click on a veg file, it starts. I still have older versions of Vegas and they all start fine. Even the 32bit version of Vegas 11 starts fine. It used to work fine, and it's a standard install-- it's right where the installer defaults to.

I even uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas but it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any idea what I could try next?

Do you still have the original SSD? If so can you check VP11 (64) still functions. If the original SSD is OK then how did you migrate to the larger SSD?
Never had a problem with either clone or image & restore methods using Macrium Reflect (free). You would just need to extend the system partition to occupy the full space available on the new SSD using windows disk management tool.

Would expect other free cloning software to work equally well,

I would suggest uninstalling again, cleaning the registry of all keys referencing that version and reinstalling. SCS used to have a page that guided through a clean install.

It would be interesting to see if it still runs from the original SSD. If it does, it would seem that something in the registry was altered during the cloning operation. I have only migrated via clone or image via hard disk, and Vegas 11 always worked afterward. I wouldn't think SSDs would be any different.

You may want to open Task Manager and see if any processes are starting when you click the .exe. May not point to a solution, but may help understand "why."

I built a whole new machine and threw my Windows drive into it and Vegas 10 wouldn't work, so I uninstalled 10 and reinstalled it and it worked. Odd it didn't work for you, but we are talking about Vegas.

do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and check processes under task manager and make sure that a vegas process is not already running.

Have used 'samsung' HDD to SSD migration twice and in both cases all programs function correctly.

However; checking the 'Vegas Help'->About showed the serial correctly but the last two digits of the machine ID were missing. I know the correct number but have know idea how to correct it.. Found it in registry but chickened out of adding the two missing digits. With Vegas working correctly I would only need the ID if I requested tech support.

Using clone or image/restore methods the machine ID is correctly transferred.

Thanks everyone! I won't get a chance to try the suggestions till the weekend, but I'm confident it'll be fixed.

OK, finally got a chance to try the method in the link to "She's dead Jim" and it worked great! Thanks again everyone!

EDIT: But now I get the EULA popup every time I start. Any ideas?
