Subject:More help on sync problems with multiple tracks

Hi folks. I know this topic has been addressed ad nauseum, but I'd like to offer my take, having "solved" my problem. Most of the fixes for newly added project tracks being out of sync in Music Studio seem to be incorrect. If you (like me) switched to Music Studio xx after many years with another DAW, in my case SawPlus32, this has been a nightmare. I do broadcast audio production in tight :10, :15; :30 second projects for commercials. Adding a drum stinger or a guitar lick to enhance an audio piece in Music Studio was crazy -- with the new tracks NEVER hitting on time in playback.

I had tried everything until today. I figured, if this program was written on the foundation of "Beatmapping," then why not play the game and record all tracks using Beatmapping? And then change any additional tracks (Events) that are imported from prerecorded files to Beatmapped. I just did a test project with 5 tracks and everything is in sync.

Drop down the "Options" menu and choose "preferences."
Move to the "General" tab
Check (enable) the box for "preserve pitch for new Beatmapped tracks when tempo changes"
Move to the "Audio" tab
Uncheck (disable) "Quick fade edges"
For "Acid Type for Recorded Audio" choose "Beatmapped!"
Move to the "Audio Device" tab
I'm using an outboard USB input device, so I chose "Microsoft Sound Mapper" If you have an onboard/internal sound card, you may want to play with the 'Wave" setting (?)
Uncheck (disable) "Automatically detect and offset for hardware recording latency" This was recommended to me in a reply from Sony.

IMPORTED FILES:
When you import any audio onto a new track, right-click a blank area of the transport (settings) box on the left side of the track and choose "Properties." A window opens that shows all the files (clips) on that track. Right click your imported clip and change the "Acid Type" to "Beatmapped." You must do this, or your imported files will not sync.

I use the default 120bpm. The master bpm slider under the tracks will work as a master time compressor/stretcher for the entire project while preserving voice pitch, and WILL adjust the time ruler! This is perfect for broadcast audio. Bottom line, this program seems to have built around this "Beatmap" foundation. So if you are going to do multitrack projects, better play the game. Comments?
