Multicam tech question

FPP wrote on 3/1/2015, 3:43 PM
As indicated in previous posts I'm getting acquainted with the multicam ability in vp12 but while I'm testing it I have noticed a white horizontal line flash upward when with my selected edit points.
I deselected auto cross fade but no results on that.
I'm not sure what adjustment I need to make to get that quick line to stop appearing at the transition point.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I am not exactly sure I know what you mean but it could well be that the events are not aligned properly; one might be off the frame boundary causing a bad transition.

What happens is very quick across the screen at each point I switched to a different camera angle in multicam track.
It is a narrow white line that starts at the bottom of the screen and rolls up to the top and disappears in about a tenth of a second. If I see it , I know it would possibly annoy a paying client.

I'm not seeing this white line in V13 or in V12 .. I don't see it in the preview window or when rendered.

Are you, per chance, mixing frame rates? i.e. 25 and 30 fps?

Also make sure that "quantize to frame" is enabled when syncing video.

(Been bitten by both in the past.)

All 4 video trks are sourced with avchd 59-60p.
As suggested by @OldSmoke, I have all 4 cameras white balanced of course in the same lighting setup at 4 different angles.
I sync audio/video prior to multicam editing set up,via Plural Eyes 3.5.

Do you think you can post a screen shot? I have never experienced anything like you describe.

Yes I will (KeepVid) a small segment of video and figure out how to post it here.
When I playback video that I cut up in multicam editing , there is an obvious point when I chose to switch from one camera to the other with that quick horizontal white line that looks like going from one frame to the next.
As I mentioned before, it only last about 1/10 of a second.
I'll fire up lites&cams this eve.

@FPP

if you see it in the preview window you should be able to save that as an image to a file.

I only see after I multicam edit and it shows up in the resulting edit.
I am going to shoot some fresh test footage with all same settings.
1 cx900 and 3 cx330s = 4 different angles.
