Subject:Sound Forge 2 for Mac $79.99 for a limited time

I saw on the Apple App Store that Sound Forge 2 for Mac is only $79.99 USD for a limited time. I have no idea what "limited" means but if anyone was considering buying it or upgrading, now would be a good time. Here is a link to the App Store page:

That price seems awfully low; they're saying it's 20% off but from what price? On the Sony store the upgrades start from $150 US and outright buys at $300 US. And if I look in the App Store under music it doesn't show there at all. I'd be more than a little suspicious of this - the page you link to say App Store Preview - whatever that means.

Nothing to worry about here.

We just released and Apple App Store only version of Sound Forge for the Mac.

It is a different product from the non-App Store Sound Forge Pro for Mac.

Here is our page on this. It also has a product comparison between the two versions.

Hmmm... that certainly wasn't obvious from the App Store.

Different in what way? I just looked at the comparison chart and the only difference I found was the Loudness Meters and, of course, the iZotope plug-ins (which I already have anyway)

Are there other differences? I don't consider Convrt a difference since it's a separate app. I get that the Pro version has iZotope plug-ins and the regular version doesn't but it looks like he same app to me without the Loudness Meters.

Did I miss something?

The differences are more than just Loudness Meters - check the above page out for all the details.

The App Store delivery model prevents us from bundling other items such as Convrt and plug-ins so the price differences reflect this.

This is great news. We have options now. Or least when SF3 comes out I'll have to make a decision. I'll miss convrt, which I use every day. But as an owner of several izotope apps, a stripped down Sound Forge might fit my needs perfectly.

I'm most happy that our user community will grow so that hopefully Sony will keep SF Mac alive, and working. And maybe Convrt will be in the app store too? :)
