upgraded and cant find installed plugins

Hi!
I own a whole bunch of New Blue FX plugins. I just upgraded from Vegas Movie Studio HD 11 Platinum to VMS HD 12 Platinum. When I opened the new version, I noticed none of my New Bllue FX were in the Video FX options, only the native SONY FX.
Do I have to reinstall all of the installed New Blue Plugins or is there a way to recover by scan the New Blue FX packages I already installed for VMS 11?
Thanks,
Flo

Flo,

By any chance do you have the 32 bit plugins that came with VMS 11 and have now installed 64 bit VMS 12?

Short version: You can't have your cake and eat it too. The included NB plugins will work in 32 bit VMS 12, but will not be seen in the 64 bit version. Plugins that came with 64 bit version with VMS 12 should be accessible once installed.

If you are using the 32 bit version of both, make sure you install VMS11, install the plugins and then install V12.

Does that help?

It does help, thanks. I own the New Blue Video Effects 1-5 in addition to the free NB FX that shipped with VMS 8-11.
I will check to make sure that I have the 64 bit version of the 5 VE packages I purchased from New Blue installed. I will assume that the others are 32 bit since they shipped with a 32 bit version of VMS so Ill kiss them goodbye.

Im also assuming the VMS should should do certain things like preview clips and render faster with the 64 bit version installed since I have 8GB RAM?

Ohmaya,

Since you bought them at NB, you can download the new installer from their website. I think the new installer comes with 32 bit and 64 bit! Depending on when you bought them (v1,4 or v3, I think) they may (v3) or may not (v1) come with GPU-accelerated versions.

The previous message referred to the NB plugins that came directly with Movie Studio Platinum.

Bundled 32-bit plugins from previous versions of Movie Studio will not be seen in 64-bit Movie Studio 12.

Purchased products can simply be reinstalled choosing the 64-bit OpenFX version this time.
