In my experience, Sound Forge Audio Editor will crash unless you disable the ASIO Driver in JRiver Media Center.

To disable the ASIO driver in JR Media Center go to Tools, Options, General, Features, and uncheck the box in front of ASIO Driver.

We're aware of this issue. Unfortunately, it's an issue with JRiver's own implementation of ASIO, and not something that can be fixed within our app. Disabling JRiver's ASIO driver is currently the best fix.

I'll also speak with the team about blacklisting the JRiver ASIO driver in a future release of Forge.
