I have gotten sporadic hangs/crashes from Vegas 12 help over time.

I did a search in VP13 and the help hung the first time I tried the search. I gave it time to build a word search database. I cannot reproduce the problem anymore beyond the first couple of times I tried it.

I just tried some things after reading your report. I opened Help and then selected About HTML help, and it hung. It only hangs if I have opened a project and not previously tried About HTML help. If I open Vegas13 and never open a project and do this, I do not get a hang in HTML help.

Ok, so I'm not the only one. Seems kinda crazy to still have a bug in the help file. I think this dates back to Vegas 10 for me.

I've had three crashes using search. tried a search for split edit, no error just locked up solid and had to kill vegas and restart, so no bug report sent. Not sure if I've had it since latest build though.
Been using vegas for over ten years never seen this before.

Yup, it happens: Program crashes when searching in Help.

In the meantime, searching with the Web-hosted version of the Vegas Pro help should work just fine.

Instead of a dedicated Search tab, the Web help displays a Search box in the top-right corner.
