Subject:Would upgrading stop the AppCrashes/NotResponding?

I purchased Acid Music Studio 8.0 and it is sort of hit and miss...

I can work on a composition with multiple tracks, dozens, and never crash once through to completion. I can also work on a 3 track song and have it go into "Not Responding" appcrash mode every few minutes... This is without any plugins/VSTs/whatever or any changes to the system. Then, I can go work on another song with multiple tracks and have no problem, what gives?

Wondering if upgrading to 9 or even splurging on Pro would help these issues...

Windows 7 64-bit
Re-installed many times, disabled DEP, all the things I read online, nothing seems to help with any solidity

Any ideas? Would upgrading help? Thanks in advance

I used Music Studio 8 for a couple years. Then I got Windows 7 and starting having similar experiences to yours. I upgraded to 9 and it's rock solid in Windows 7. BUT...I noticed today that version 10 has hit the streets.

Thanks mike,
I guess perhaps that each version is 'optimized' more towards certain Windows versions (Music 10 may become more optimized for Windows 8), interesting... Since I don't plan on 'upgrading' to Windows8 for a while, perhaps an upgrade to Music9 is in order... Thanks again for your input

You have to be running a minimum of Windows 7 for Acid Music Studio 10 to work.
But if I were you and able to do it, I would jump to 10. Some nice added features including per clip fx enablement which doesn't exist in the pro version. About time as Vegas has had this for a while.
