Subject:SF8 won't install from copied install files on h/d

I've been copying all my install disks to h/d to archive the whole bunch on a blu-ray disk. I notice SoundeForge8 won't initiate from the copied files on the h/d. I click setup.exe and it says "Unable to run autoplay program". Most apps will do this no problem.

Any idea why this is?

Thanks.

Not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish. Most applications will not run w/o being installed on the host machine.

I copied the contents of the SF8 install disk to a hard drive. However after having done that the installation won't execute when I hit "setup.exe". With other apps this works fine.

You should rip an image of the install disc. This is the best way to accomplish what you're trying to accomplish. Most modern software will not just simply install from a straight rip of the disc contents in my experience.

I don't see the reason for this. Even if you accomplish it, you will need to download the latest version from Sony (well, not "need", but I would think you would want to)

As long as you have internet access, and a registered version, you can download the latest version of your software.
