Boris Red in VP 12 - preview vs render issue

I'm trying a trial of Boris Red to see whether I can justify the cost of the Boris bundle with the Black Friday weekend deal that ends tomorrow. It does a lot more than BCC8 which I already own.

I created a motion tracked spot light shaped to look like a being from another dimension. It looked fine in preview. When rendered, the position of the light shifted significantly to the right. I can not figure out why. Any suggestions?

Check to see that the dimensions of the Vegas project are the same when you are in Red. If not, you can change it in the Boris Red project settings menu. Also set the Vegas preview to Best quality and Full. Lastly, you might have to slide the Boris Red effect to the beginning of your effects chain. That is, before Pan/Crop, especially if you render to a different resolution than your original footage.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried them but the problem persisted. I then started over with a new instance of Boris Red and the problem went away. Go figure!

So after watching a few more webinars/tutorials, I decided to buy the Boris Box Set for the Black Friday offer of 50% off (expires at midnight tonight). That's $795 because I already own BBC8 for Vegas. Cheaper than Red alone, plus I get BCC8 for After Effects which includes the morph plug-in that does not work in Vegas. I've wanted that one for a long time. It also includes Blue but I'm not sure I'll be using it that much.

Glad you got it to work correctly. I really like Boris Red - it is definitely my most often used plugin. If I didn't already own Red, I too would have bought the box set. As for Blue, it seems to be a dead-end product and, if I recall correctly, a bit of an oddball with regard to the highly specific graphics hardware requirement. Anyway, it sounds like you got a good deal.
