Audio Lags Video

I imagine there are already posts on this subject but I cannot find them.

I'm having problems with the audio lagging the video when I preview from the time line.

I have a single video/audio track with no effects, plugins, etc.; I'm previewing in draft mode. The scenario could not be any simplier, and yet I have a noticeable audio lag. Has anyone experienced this?

What video/audio format is on your timeline? I've experienced this with audio encoded in a variable bit rate format. Also, are you seeing this on an external monitor, or in the Vegas preview window?

I recently had this.
Turned out the audio edits weren't quantised.

In preferences/edit tab : 'do not quantise audio only edits' should be un-checked.

Of course, your problem may be different.
