I know AP6 is outdated, but I do need it again. AP is much easier to create loop based drum tracks with. I'm now running Win7 64 bit.

Is it possible to install and run AP6 on this platform? I don't really want to drop the money on an already outdated upgrade. Especially when the last update is already a few years old.

Probably not - AP 6 was created based on Win XP platform.
AP 7 had a bad start on vista and then as it's last update in Feb 2010 became Win 7 approved.

Have you tried it?

Perhaps using the Windows Compatibility mode settings would be of assistance.

I just tried installing it again. .NET and sql are incompatible and will not install. Oh well. I guess I'll look for another program as easy to use as Acid. Sad Sony seems to be letting this program die.

Here's a little blurb from Microsoft:

You can run Windows XP programs in Windows 7.

It's the best of both worlds: The new Windows XP Mode lets you run older Windows XP business software right on your Windows 7 desktop.

Designed primarily with small- and medium-sized businesses in mind, Windows XP Mode comes as a separate download and works only with Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. Windows XP Mode also requires virtualization software such as Windows Virtual PC. Both are available free on the Microsoft website.

Interesting... Thanks for the info. I'm going to give both of them a try since I have Win7 Home and Pro on different machines.
