Well, I wasn't planning on doing ANYTHING today, but now I have to throw that plan out the window. ;-)

The first thing I notice is that Vegas' color curves filter seems pretty hamstrung.

Another vote for his book from me. He does go beyond the basics and into the more advanced concepts which few do.

If you do a search for "Hullfish" you will find other threads here about this video.

It is good to have a new thread about it once in a while.

Thanks!

Bob,
Steve has two books:
-The Art and Technique of Digital Color Correction by Steve Hullfish (May 11, 2012)
-Color Correction for Video, Second Edition: Using Desktop Tools to Perfect Your Image (DV Expert Series) by Steve Hullfish and Jaime Fowler (Oct 27, 2008)

which one were you referring to or recommend?

Byron,
the book I have is "Color Correction for Digital Video Using Desktop Tools to Perfect Your Image", DV Expert Series.
I bought that a LONG time ago, I think it is now in it's second edition.

The DV Rebels Guide also has a section on color correction that's worth a read. Actually even better it explores what's in front of the camera's color palette and how by controlling that you can get a much better looking shot than you'll get using CC, especially if you cannot afford the best cameras money can buy.

Watching on a lazy Saturday, and I'm impressed not only with how much I've been learning, but also with how personable and easy to learn from the presenter is. Thank you!
