PluralEyes 3.2 available for Windows Platforms

Videoimpressions0622 wrote on 6/6/2013, 6:00 PM
I received an email earlier today alerting me that PluralEyes 3.2 now is available on the Windows platform. I know in the past that every time Red Giant releases something new chances are that they will be holding a big sale. Has anyone gotten wind if they have offered a good discount on PluralEyes 3.2 yet? If someone gets the word, please spread it here! Thanks in advance.

While we're all waiting for the "big sale," PluralEyes 2.0.3 is working just great!

I find the reference audio recorded by my GoPro 3 needs to be adjusted 3 frames back to get lip-sync.
I guess Plural eyes will sync my external audio wrong also unless I first adjust the reference audio.
Probably there's no advantage to using Plural eyes then in this case as I have to mess around doing it all by hand in Vegas anyway.
Anyone else notice this lack of sync in the GoPro?

$199!

I will stay with the old version that works for now. I do not qualify for the free update.

I found their email confusing. Whilst they said that existing 3 owners qualify for a free update they said nothing about 2 owners - which most windows users will be because 3 was only for mac.

You have to go to their FAQ and then you find that 2 owners qualify for a $79 upgrade.

The purchase is no longer NLE specific plus you get a copy of Dual Eyes as well.

I've upgraded as its supposed to be much faster than 2.

Oh and for UK users - the price is a straight $79 / £52 (via Paypal) n.b. they don't slap a 20%+ sales tax on top of it.

Thanks for the heads up on this offer. I was seriously thinking of purchasing PluralEyes ... and I don't really need another mic ... but for about $30 more than the price of just the software I can get a decent mic as well ... I just may go for it (but I have to wait 'till I have the $$)

Right. But once you have your GoPro3 audio in sync Plural Eyes will still save you a huge amount of time syncing up track or tracks recorded on portable recorders unless I'm not understanding what you're doing.

Plural Eyes 3.2 is amazingly fast. Worth the $79 upgrade from 2.0 just for the speed.

I've thought of what I think would be the best work flow for stereo:
1) Use PE to change all the mono reference audio from the Hero3 with my high quality stereo clips.
2) Import into Vegas and move each audio track back 3 frames.
This would save me the currently mind-numbing (on big projects) job of syncing the stereo to the mono reference. And remove a lot of opportunities for error.

Just thought of something else though, I do surround sound as well on occasion, so I wonder if PE will handle that - Anyone know?

I just had a "chat" session with Red Giant. This code, I am told, will be goodfor the foreseeable future, but the agent noted that sales bigger than this can pop up at any moment. So let's all be on the lookout and post here as soon as one pops up, if ever!

I am certain that I saw, many times, that the PL 3 update would be free for Windows users because it was so late coming out after the Mac version.

========= Announcement Info I received ==========================

Great news! Your recent purchase of Dual Eyes 2 and/or PluralEyes 2 makes you eligible for the FREE upgrade to PluralEyes 3. It's all part of our Red Pledge.

This is a Mac-only release. The Windows version is in development, and will be a free update to PluralEyes 3 owners.

===========================================================

I find this announcement confusing.

I've been happily using PluralEyes 2 for quite some time and found it to be fast enough, I did however qualify for the free upgrade to 3.2.. so I'm testing it now.

PluraEyes 3.2 opens with it's own interface from within Vegas unlike version 2 which just started syncing things up straight away..

Workflow:
I've got two 45 min video tracks and 1 external audio track on the timeline, I've opened PluralEyes 3.2 and it's been preparing media now for almost 10 minutes.. progress bar is only halfway through.. Faster ?? not for me.. my version 2 would have this done in 2mins or less.

Using and enjoying PE 3.2.1 .

What an amazing piece of software. There's even a "Try Harder" option in the drop down menu! - Hah.

For multicam shoots w/ long video events, Ver 3 hangs on my system. Even if I split the events and run V3 it analyzes all the clips and just stays on that screen. I run Plural Eyes 2 and everything works perfect.

FYI, it appears that the offer of Free PluralEyes 3.2 with purchase of specific Rode mics has been extended to September 30, 2013

I've just ordered a Rode VideoMic Pro (and dead cat) from B&H Photo and am waiting for delivery so I can get my copy of PluralEyes. (don't really need another mic .. but it's almost like buying PluralEyes and getting a free mic!)

When PluralEyes first came out I downloaded the trial version and played with it ... very nice ... however I didn't have the cash to buy it then.

FYI, it appears that the offer of Free PluralEyes 3.2 with purchase of specific Rode mics has been extended to September 30, 2013There is also a free offer for PluralEyes when buying the Zoom H2n Handy Recorder, but unfortunately it appears to be the Mac version. I'd been toying with getting the H2n, and almost clicked on the "purchase" button until I saw it was Mac-only. I'll still probably get the recorder.
richard-amirault wrote on 7/20/2013, 7:34 AM
Well, the offer I mentioned ACTUALLY only says Version 3 (which is Mac only) I assumed that I would be able to upgrade (for free) to 3.2 (Mac & Win version) ... or ... the download would be 3.2 instead of 3

I would assume that would be the same for you and the Zoom H2n.
Laurence wrote on 7/20/2013, 9:32 AM
Version 3 was initially Mac only. I imagine it's just dated advertising.
