NewBlue FX with MS 12 Suite

JackWhite wrote on 4/25/2013, 1:32 PM
Hi, can someone specify exaclty what NewBlue FX effects and transistions come with Movie Studio 12.

How does Titler Ex differ from Titler Pro 1.0 (which comes with Vegas Pro)?

Is the Red Giant Quick Looks a full version of the Quick looks 1.4 (99$) or just a copy of the Quick Looks 1.4 Free (which is free)?

Lastly, woudl you say the Suite is best value (which comes with the NewBlue / Red Giant addons) or the Visual Effects Suite (which comes with Hitfilm Express)?

Thanks!

TitlerEx is a subset of Titler Pro 1 which is a subset of Titler Pro 2.

Thanks Edward. Can yopu be any more specific about the limitations of Titler Ex compared to Pro 1 (I've tried the demo of Pro 1). Also, can you say anything about the FX and transitions bundled (or is that something Sony decided).

Thanks

I'll defer to JetDV on this one, but if I recall the EX version is not keyframable and there is no undo. Additionally, if you have other NB FX, they can be used within the full version, but not the EX version.

This was my short running list from about 1 year ago.

See here for list of NB FX included with MS12

Jack,
you have some good questions here, esp. as the Gallery on the MSPS 12 Product page still shows the NB video FX and transitions in VMSP 10 32-bit.
Markk655 brought up this same problem in the Gallery, when v11 came out. Thanks for listing the current NB FX.

Re MB QL1.4, you may find a trial here

I don't know if the free version is compatible with Movie Studio.

In addition, TitlerEx also has limited title tracks in the titler timeline. Keyframes are definitely missing as well as Undo. Otherwise, it is actually a quite powerful titler.

Thanks Edward. In relation to it not having keyframes, does this mean you can't animate the title?

Thanks

You cannot do animations via keyframes. If there are any animations you like on the Library tab, those would still work.
