Vegas 12 issue: Is anyone else getting a freeze frame when previewing the timeline on an external HD monitor? black magic drivers on my Intensity Pro card are up to date.. I can preview fine if scrubbing through the timeline.. this issue happens during playback.. don't have this problem in any previous version of vegas.. I emailed sony support about it last week still waiting on a response.

I use AJA IO Express to connect a external monitor.
Pro 12 can't work with it, Pro 11 is OK.

I am using a BMD Decklink Studio card and have zero problems.
Using drivers from Desktop Video 9.0 which I believe the Intensity Pro also uses.

I have heard it said in this forum that upon installing a new Vegas version, you should re-install the BMD product.

This happens to me using my intensity shuttle.. I also get crashes frequently. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times.

Crashes seem to happen more often if my media is on an external drive.

The first thing I did was uninstall and update with the latest fresh drivers.. still have the same issue..

I don't know what everyone's experience has been like with SCS Email support?? but i'm still waiting on some feedback after nearly 2 weeks now.. seems it's a common occurrence on any technical query I put forward.. they have the worst technical support I've ever seen in a software product which is a real shame.

I'm not sure if this is related, but experienced a similary problem to this and found a weird but effective solution.

My scenario related to multi-camera editing - when I tried display full frame on external monitor the display would freeze.

Very frustrating. Fiddled around with settings on the Intensity Pro and in Vegas, driver installs, etc. I have also copied the V10 DecklinkVideoProperties.dll file into V12 as the earlier native V12 version appeared to be flawed. Still froze.

Out of frustration tried opening and closing various Vegas tabs, and the display became active.

Process of elimination revealed that having the "Video Scopes" window open allowed the montoring to operate as expected. As soon as I clicked on, say, the Trimmer tab and so hid the scopes, the monitor froze. Click back on the "video scopes" tab and the world is a great place.

Don't really understand it, but it is working consistently for me.

Summary: Having the video scopes display open fixes my Intensity Pro frozen display issue.

Interested to know if this works for anyone else, or any other feedback on the issue.

Cheers,

marks

My internal BMD Intensity Pro will work for awhile - maybe a few hours or so editing - then will just show a freeze frame like you mention. My current project is 75 minutes on the timeline, and I've had so many problems with VP12s P2 handling I haven't even tried to figure out what is happening with the intensity. I did download and install the latest BMD drivers.

Pretty normal in my experience. I have gone over a month without reply.
