Vegas Audio + Delta1010 interface

Has anyone had a problem with using the Delta1010 card with Vegas Audio? About 50% of the time I record a track, it comes out jittery and/or has snaps as if I don't have enough RAM (I have 640megs of PC133 SDRAM). I switched back to my old audio card (GadgetLabs 8.24) and it works just fine with Vegas. I've worked with MidiMan tech support on this issue and have done all of their tweaking suggestions without any improvements. I even went to the point of building another DAW to eliminate the possibility of the VIA chipset on my MB causing the problems. I went to an Intel 44BX chipset MB. Still get the same garbage.

The audio card has it's own IRQ and the USB is disabled.

Just out of curiosity, I recorded some tracks into Sound Forge 5.0 beginning with low sample/bit rates and increased them each time. The tracks all came out fine including 24/96 tracks. This now leads me to believe that the problem may stem from a Delta-Vegas incompatability.

I'd like to stick with Vegas if possible, but if I can't get it to work with the Delta card, I guess I'll have to look at another brand of software. Anybody have a fix?

Interstingly enough . .
the only way I even found out about VEGAS was becasue it came bundled with myDELTA 1010..which would make one thonk they are compatible.

I've had no problems with it myself. It's worked great. As a matter of fact I traded in my gadget labs becasue I had similar problems as you do now.

Iwould suggestdoing a search on the board. There are a lot of DELTA users here and some may have experienced/fix what you are going through

Make sure you have your program using the correct Sound card. It may be trying to use a built-in sound card.

Go to the preferences and make sure the proper device is being used.

I use a delta 1010 with VV3, Sound Forge 5, Acid 3 and had problems until I changed the device.

Good luck.

first of all, they lie about everything
they are pure BS artists
Jim T do you have XP?
m-audio's patches sux the big one
it worked fine with ME but not with XP
i looked on many boards and everyone says the same thing
m-audio has terrible patches
i took out m-audio and put back in my creative sound blaster and haven't had a problem since
btw, m-audio told me any time i had a problem i could call them, well i must have called 20 times...all very nice and sincere calls mind you trying to ask for help...i'm still waiting for my first call back
good luck, sb

If you're using Windows 98SE I would recommend going back to an older version of the MME driver. This was how I managed to clear up glitches in my audio. In fact, I ended up going back to the original drivers that came with the Delta 1010. Although I lost some of the upgrade features I gained a rock solid recording setup. The audio no longer had any digital artifacts when tracking in Vegas. This may be the solution to what you're experiencing.

Hope all goes well and you're able to fix things soon.

use the .27 drivers for Win98SE, they work great, the others DO NOT with Vegas. Windows 2000 - forget it - no joy. Windows XP, quite good with the new XP driver... actually, I'm starting to like XP... and vegas looks very good in that OS.

I have used the Delta 1010 with both Windows 98 and Win2k without any problems at all. I have used it with both Vegas Audio Pro and 2.0, Video 3.0, Acid Pro 3.0 (and 2) and Sound Forge 5.

The only problem I've had is trying to burn 24 bit wav files. I found what the problem was though... i can't afford the cd-writer that could handle a 24 bit wav file.
