Playlist Skip Problem

I've created 10 video clips and brought them into a Playlist.

When I press play on the first video, it smoothly transitions from video to video, ending on the 10th one, then it returns to the menu. Perfect.

However, DVDA doesn't allow for the use of the skip button... I can only Fast Forward to move through the 10 videos quickly. I went ahead and burned a DVD and the skip button sort of works... it skips to random video clips.

How can I properly enable and set up the skip function in each of the 10 video clips in a playlist, which will hopefully solve my random skip problem?

First, take one burned DVD that you made and play it in a number of DVD set-top players of diff manufact and age....

I think that I read that the skip function will take you to the next item on the disc, not the next on your playlist.

I haven't worked with playlists much in DVDA.

As I understand it, the skip button goes to the next chapter.

Just a guess. Try putting a chapter at the start of each item in the playlist. Or perhaps put a chapter at the end of each item. If that doesn't work move it to about 1 second before the end.

Remember that chapters have to be on I frames. Vegas MPEG2 has an option of making an I frame at each chapter. A chapter mark not on an I frame in DVDA will show a different color. It is sometimes hard to see as it is only slightly different than the other color. If in doubt, move the marker slightly to see where the I frames are and put it on one of them.

Hope this helps.
