Create .MP4 in Vegas 11, import it.. CRASH.

Just another item in a long list of complete failures from Sony.

Why on earth can I render to the XDCAM EX format, but if I need to bring the file back in to Vegas, the system crashes and asks if I want to send an error report.

What gives Sony? Have you lost your mind?

Why on earth can I create it, but not use it? That is the dumbest thing ever.

Once again, I say your product line was pretty good right up until this fouled piece of software.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Round trip working on two machines of different vintages here. Please post Mediainfo details of your rendered output.

I tired 3 different codecs to make an mp4: the xdcam, Sony AVC and Main Concept.

On render Sony would crash every time with or without GPU accl on. xdcam and main concept rendered fine and imported back in just fine.

Last week I had a problem where I couldn't import an After Effects mp4 rendered with Main Concept so the work around was a .mov mp4

Maybe vegas should come with a ouji board to determine what codecs it likes
