file locations?

Is there any way to get all files created during the building of a project for a DVD to appear in the same folder? I create a new folder and Capture from my analog tape thru my Canon set to AV => DV, getting several .avi files in that folder. After dragging them into a Vegas project and saving, the .vf files ends up someplace else. Click on Make Movie and the mpg also ends up someplace else. Open DVDA to burn a DVD and the .dar file also ends up in yet another place. The prepared TS files end up buried in a Temp folder, unless you change the location before burning. Is there a setting that will force all the files into a specific project folder?

I pick where to save each file as i create it. It's very easy to put everything where you want it.

I suppose I was expecting the program to "know" that the other files should be saved in the folder with the .avi files.

Movie Studio has no concept of a "project" folder. As Kelly said, it will let you save files anywhere you want and if you're not careful you won't know where they are. The onus is on you to be organized. I save all of my files in a single project folder with subfolders for the different media like:

\Project_name
\Project_name\source
\Project_name\dvd
\Project_name\render

etc. I save the .vf and .dar files in the root of the project folder.

Yep, i always start every project by creating a folder to put it in first, then i make sure i save everything associated with that project in that folder.

When you save your project in its own folder, check "Copy media with project."

Done.
