Subject:Plug-in Preset Dropdwon menu

I have some Waves plug-ins. However, the presets for these plug-ins don't appear in the Preset dropdown window in Sound Forge. I have to load the preset from within the Waves plug-in every time.

I know I must be missing something really obvious here but I;ve searched all over for preset files in folders all over my computer but no luck.

I;m sure the problem originates from how the Waves were installed (ie where do I put them in 64bit, or x86 32bit Program files etc...

Any help on finding a way to populate the Preset dropdown menu would eb much appreciated,

Are the plug-ins DX (Direct X) or VST, and are you using the 'Plug-in Chainer'?

Waves plug-ins are VST I think.
They are the S1 stero imager, the L1 Ultramaximizer and C4 multiband compessor.

I am using the plug-in chainer sometimes, but the issue is the same whether you use the preset in the chainer or use it stand-alone.

All my other plug-ins are fine - the Preset dropdown menu is populated with the presets - it's just my new Waves ones which I have to load the preset in from the plug-in itself. This is a pain becise I have to select the preset every time I open the plug-in - if the Preset dropdown meu were populated it would remember the preset I alst used.

I don't have any Waves VST plug-ins but that shouldn't matter I guess as VSTs require a different save sequence from the DX plugs.. You must save as a pre-set or a bank of pre-sets. I'll capture a screenshot later, or maybe someone can eloquently explain it. I'm not much of a technical writer.

It's not a bug, it's just how the Waves preset system works.

I think it's a bug of Sound Forge.
Just installed Adobe Audition CS6 - everything works as expected there. It even remembers the last used settings with waves plug ins.

Not necesarily. If it is a bug, it's one that affects all SCS apps, and maybe one that Audition has developed a specific workaround for. If that is the case SCS could do the same.

You need to use the 'Load' button inside the Waves plug. Yes, it's a pain.

Thanks, Geoff, yes it's a pain - as i can't see any solution the use a script the recognizes the load button inside the waves plugins. we're working with programmed hardware buttons that use macros, so that really a problem for often used settings.
