DVDA Pro 5.2 won't let me create 24p DVD!

Hi!

I've noticed this problem from few other forums as well and I'm wondering if any of you have noticed, that the latest version of DVD Architect Pro 5.2 doesn't offer the possibility to create a 24p (progressive) DVD video disc. As far as I understood, this option was listed in the DVD presets in previous versions of DVDA, but now it's gone ??? Other users seem to have experienced the same problem as well.

Even if I start a new DVD project with a blank workspace, DVD Architect still won't let me choose progressive picture format or change the frame rate to 24, no matter what. The "Progressive" selection is still still visible in the Project Properties menu, but it's disabled (=in grey text), and can't be clicked no matter what settings I try to change.

Can anyone help me out on this one? Thanks!

Your MPEG file needs to be rendered as 23.97 with pulldown. Then your DVD is set for 29.97 and will insert the correct pulldown for the 24fps video. Based on your DVD player capabilities, it will either convert the progressive to interlaced or play progressive.

A DVD is always 29.97 in NTSC land.

I also have DVDA Version 4 and there is no mention of 24P in the settings.

Just use the DVD Architect 24p DVD template.

It's not actually rendered with pulldown; it's rendered with pulldown FLAGS, instructions for the DVD player to insert pulldown if the DVD is being played to an interlaced TV. It's a 24p file.

This is an important distinction, because saying you're rendering WITH pulldown is saying you're creating a 60i file, and not a 24p file. That's not what you want to do.
