I've installed Mercalli and NOT the codec pack. It's a PITA, but I just need to press ignore on each startup of Mercalli when it nags you to install the K-lite stuff.
Tom
It might be worth mentioning, that I did need to install ffdshow & haali splitter in order to get Mercalli V2 SAL to work properly. (and have not noticed any issues with Sony Vegas).
Agree with Tom, just press "ignore" (K-lite) at the splash screen.
Can you please elaborate a bit. I have not installed either of those and Mercalli appears to be happy, except for one thing, which I am still pursuing through proDad support.
The steadied, rendered clip's video part comes out twice as long as the original, while the sound remains the correct length.
"Can you please elaborate a bit. However, I seem to recall that in my initial install of Mercalli V2 SAL, I could only export (render) to WMV files. I'm trying to remember what my exact errors were, but alas, my Alzheimer's is kicking in. Edit: See several posts down - Mercalli SAL wouldn't accept AVCHD/.mts files.
I also had to install the haali splitter for it to work with MTS/AVCHD files.
Recently though I have had stability problems with the standalone version using these files. Mercalli tech support's response is to install klite. I've told them multiple times I won't do that and if they need codecs not on the system they should install them privately like VLC does.
