Below are ones I have bookmarked, but I haven't actually ordered anything from any of them. These were collected just in case.

You'll have to do some research on these and it seems that when ordering replacement screens you have to be extra careful if you want to get exactly what you need. Naming of these panels is all over the place and it's very easy to get confused, and sometimes some of these places apparently just send whatever matches your request, but not quite the same. For example you may need a replacement screen for a Dell XPS 15" , full HD, you may get that resolution and it will fit, but you may not get a high gamut screen even if that's what you ordered unless you really make sure they know you won't accept anything less than that

How about keyboards? I have two laptops with bad keyboards.

My wife broke her laptop screen twice (by tripping over the cord and yanking it to the floor of course). The first time Acer fixed it, the second time I ordered one on line and did it myself. If you look on Youtube, you can probably find an instruction video for screen replacement on your exact laptop model. Just watch and follow along. That's what I did.

I found it easier and cheaper to use the spare USB keyboard I had lying around and the spare LCD monitor I had lying around then buy new parts. It's a LOT cheaper too.

eBay is your friend.

I have bought replacement laptop screens, keyboards, and even motherboards that way. Very inexpensive.

No way my wife would have gone for that.

My wife didn't want to either but I told her I'm not paying a couple hundred to fix a laptop that wasn't taken care of.

I have an HP laptop that my daughter started high school with, over 4 years ago. To date I have replaced the LCD panel, keyboard, battery and power supply. These parts were gotten from www.laptoppartsexpert.com.

I have also replaced the original 5400 rpm (80 GB I think) hard drive with a 160 GB 7200 rpm unit and maxed the memory out to 4GB and replaced Vista with 64 bit Windows 7.

Mine too and so do i but I haven't replaced a piece of my machine bought at the same time as hers because I don't let the kids play with it. More important things to spend $$ when we've got parts that will work sitting in the basement.

On that topic... ChipGallo, I read that link very naughtily. :D

I know, I know. I bet they know too and it is part of their grand marketing scheme.

REPLACEMENT LCD SCREEN

I have a Samsung laptop that has a loose connection and so the screen keeps cutting out. Any recommendations on who could fix it for me?

Dexcon wrote on 11/3/2022, 4:57 PM

Go to Samsung's website, select the Support selection and from the Support page, there should be a Repair Service selection that provides avenues about getting a Samsung product serviced. The exact option names will depend on which country in which your local Samsung website is based.

I doubt that you are going to get any recommendations on the forum about computer repair shops local to you because you haven't given the city/state/country in which you reside.
