Does anyone frequent the SonyTalk forum on Vegas Pro or know anything about it?
I stumbled across it while thinking about how the communication between SonyCreativeSoftware and the users here seems to have broken down over the past several years.
Way back in the day, when I first licensed Vegas Audio (Version 1), there was a SoundForge engineer by the name of Peter Haller who was very helpful and ever present via direct email, way above and beyond the call of duty. He even wrote a software driver for the sound card I was using to get it to work properly with Vegas.
While wondering what ever became of him, I found him on linkedin, and oddly enough he is listed as the "Principal Software Engineer at Sony Creative Software Inc.", although it says he's in Cleveland and not Madison, so I don't know what that means.
A little further googling, and I discover that he's posted many times on the topic of Vegas Pro on the SonyTalk forum, answering questions, soliciting customer thoughts on new features, etc.
Sony being what it is, I don't know if that Sony is the same as this Sony, or if that Vegas Pro is the same as this one, but in any case, this forum needs someone like Peter Haller to engage customers, reassure them that good things are happening behind the scenes (new development, repairs, whatever), solicit input and provide some insight into why things are as they are.
Just my opinion, of course.
