What are my best audio settings for vegas audio?

So we just bought a new from computer from ADK-- it's really fast.
16GB RAM
Quad Core 4.5 GHz overclocked processor i7 sandy bridge
solid state programs drive

We're running 64-bit Windows and 64-bit Vegas 10.e

Yet Vegas is stuttering and gapping when we do per item time stretches.
Turning off audio buffering causes a million clicks and pops during the session.
Is Vegas just unable to handle time stretching? I love the way elastique sounds... but if it doesn't work...

Elastique worked fine for me last night, lower spec PC.

Have you installed and selected the ASIO driver for your device ? What ARE yor audio settings (interface device settings) ?

I've got an Edirol UA-1000 with 64bit ASIO drivers installed.

Time stretch in general has been flaky.
