Canon 60D RAW import not working V10/11 64 bit

I can't import my Canon 60D RAW CR2 files into the 64 bit versions of VP 10 or VP 11.

However... they will import into the 32 bit versions of Vegas!

I just installed the latest Microsoft RAW Codec and I can see the RAW files as large icons in Windows Explorer and they also preview in Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011.

My OS is Vista 64bit.

Any ideas folks?

PS. I tried creating a Vegas 32 project then opening it in Vegas 64, it lists the photo as "Media Offline." :-(

This is not much help, but I can confirm that I'm having the same experience with the CR2 files from a 60D with VP11 on Windows 7 -64 bit.

Overall I think it is a 64 bit issue - after I built a brand new system I found that the canon 60D RAW file would not show up in the Win7 viewer. Installing the Canon codec and the MS codec pack they still would not show up. Canon blames MS for not keeping up to date.

So I got a third party product:

Canon CR2 codec.
