What codecs do I need again?

Hello people,
I just re-formatted my computer and re-installed Vegas. Everything went smooth, but when I tried to open a file it said I was missing codecs. It's been so long that I haven't installed Vegas, I was hoping someone would be willing to refresh my memory as to what I'm missing here. Thanks for your help! cheers

You are missing the codec for the file that only you have, so we can't tell you. You should download a free tool like GSpot and drop the file into it and see what codec it thinks it needs. Then download and install only that codec from the manufacturer.

Well basically all the files I use in my projects are avi. rendered using neoscene. So it won't even open these projects as it causes an error, and if I open a new project and try to open an avi. clip it says it's missing the codec. So should there be an avi codec or something I need? I've never had this problem before.

Yes, this is the problem. My computer won't play back the avi files. The are very large files, 60p too, but I don't remember having had to download anything special to make them work.

I assume you were missing the CineForm codec since you said you encoded them with NeoScene. Was that the solution?
