It is of interest - I am really new to all of this and have been interested in slo-mo using a different frame rate - did you shoot the video at 60 fps and then change the frame rate of the project in VMS to 30 fps to get this effect? Is there a way to apply the lower frame rate to selected clips or do you have to make it a global setting for the whole project?

...and sorry ...what is DIS?

One very simple method is to:

-- Shoot at 60p (59.94)
-- Place clips in a 30p Project (29.97)
-- Disable Resampling on all clips
-- Set the event Playback Rate to .500
-- Click-drag the event edge until it hits the notch at exactly twice the original length.
-- Render as 30p (29.97)

I am going to try this! I have a GH1 and I can shoot at 1280X720/60p to try this out. I have never used that format so it will be fun to try. Will let you know how it goes.

The best way to get exact slow motion is to use the properties dialog, not to click-drag.

Great technique, musicvid! Here's my test run: SloMo I think the local hosted video shows less stutter than YouTube - I'd be interested in others observations. Edit: I think the quality is much better if you click the "expand to full screen icon".

Original footage 1920x1080 60p shot with a Panny TM700. btw, I set the playback rate to 0.500 to get an exact 29.97 fps.

Some quick questions...Im still not sure what DIS is that everyone notes on their test footage - is it Digital Image Stabilization? Whatever it is, it is turned on/off in the camera or in VMS?
