Error in burning

got XP and tried to burn double layer dvd and this is the error i got:

A hardware error occurred.
An internal target failure occurred.
seems like its got stuck when it was starting to burn secound layer.

Did you let Architect select the break point?
It won't always work if you select your own.

What media are you using?
Are you burning at max speed? (you shouldn't)

The branding Matshita (for Matsushita) may indicate that the device is getting old, since their branding is now universally Panasonic, I believe.
