Online Help keeps popping up

I've been having a bizarre issue with Vegas lately. Whenever I access the FX Chain window, Windows Online Help keeps popping up with the title "Why can't I get help from this program?". Minimizing the Help window won't help, it still keeps popping up whenever I access effect chains.

Pretty annoying - and weird too. I suppose no-one else has run into this? :) Any idea whatsoever how to fix it? Maybe it's a registry error of some kind?

(Win7 64-bit, both 32- and 64-bit Vegas Pro 9.0d)

Thanks for your reply.

Apparently there is no need to install it, I get a "This update is not applicable to your computer" from it.

I don't think the help program is missing on my system, something has just gone awry ... somewhere ... and that causes the help to constantly pop up without me asking for it.

Already tried un- and re-installing Vegas. Didn't fix it. So this bizarre problem lies somewhere else.

Sorry, I pointed you to the version for Vista rather than Win7. Try this instead.

All rightee! That one installed OK, and it fixed the problem.
