I have been given a bunch of files by a client that cam from a JVC camera. The original media was a .MOV format that only FCP seems to be able to read.
I also received MPEG-2 equivalents of them, but Vegas's MPEG-2 bugs cause it to crash when too many clips are added to the timeline.
To work around this I transcoded to MXF. the editing and loading is now no problem, but I notice that the image appears to soften, and I am obliged to put a sharpen effect on the tracks.
Is this other peoples experience or am I doing something wrong? Should I be taking another approach all together?
All wisdom welcomed.
