Subject:SF10.0b crashes a lot...had to reinstall 10.0a

In particular, 10.0b did not like some of my files transferred from my Tascam HD-P2 field recorder. Is there something in the header data? I dunno.

I could open up the raw recordings and play 'em OK. But with some files, every time I tried to click and drag a selected area to create a new file, SF10.0b would crash (and the new error reporting window is slow, slow, SLOW!).

I had to uninstall, then reinstall 10.0a, starting with 10.0 from my disk.

Sorry, Sony. Whatever you did to fix 10.0b doesn't work well on my machine...10.0a is workin' much better.

Not here - sounds like something corrupted.

Did you try uninstalling, deleting the Sony Setup folder and reinstalling ?

That's a thought -- the Sony Setup folder.

I did reinstall from the original 10.0 disk, then to 10.0a...which is working fine for the moment.

Got a few deadlines to crunch through before I give 10.0b another try.

Thanks.

And uninstall first before reinstall, for a clean install.

Sound Forge 10.0b crashed for me too and I submitted an error report. It's strange because I was editing about 90 files and was on file 80 or so when it crashed, so hadn't been doing anything different from the previous 80 files. Was alt-tabbing between SF and a script in MS Word quite a lot, but always do that so no change there.

10.0a never crashed on me.
