The small setup window looks as it should. Hovering the mouse pointer over the various menu choices produces clicks, as it should.
The language choice button works. The exit button works. But the buttons for installing SF and Noise Reduction do not work.

I got it working by following the recipe posted by ScottJames in this thread: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=3&MessageID=675799

I am having the same install problem. I am on XP-SP3.

Curious.

I wonder if SONY has any comments.

I had no trouble with that. But if I did, I'd likely try that same recipe referenced above.

Thanks .. that was going to be my next step.

It was and it worked just fine. Up and running on 10.0b.

For me, after the Windows auth screen, I don't even see the "small window." Nothing in the event log, either.

I have a question migrating from SF 9.0e to 10.0b. My editing is extremely simple, nothing complex. I have no settings to save.

Envrionment: Windows XP/Pro-SP3

Can I delete 9.0e and install 10.0b without installing the CD I purchased on 9/2009 and not installing 10.0a? I presume that this will also uninstall iZotope. Should I delete CD Architect 5.2d and reinstall with 10.0b? I assume the same will automatically happen for iZotope.

I have new codes for SF 10.0 (CD vrsion), CD Architect 5.2 that comes with 10.0, and iZotope that comes with 10.0.

I can try doing the install the simple way (just install it using the septu program) or using the process by ScottJames in the post above.

Any practical suggestions would be welcomed.

Thank you, Larry

Sony's updates are complete installs, not patches, so you can skip 10 and 10.0a.
I would install 10.0b first, then uninstall 9, but that's just my own defensive reflex.

I presume that this will also uninstall iZotope.
No. The iZotope mastering bundle is a separate install.

Should I delete CD Architect 5.2d and reinstall with 10.0b?
No. CD Architect is a separate install, and you already have the latest version.

I can try doing the install the simple way (just install it using the septu program) or using the process by ScottJames in the post above.
The 10.0b install program apparently wants to see the active presence of the three programs referenced in ScottJames's post, and apparently they are hosed in some people's systems.
However, it doesn't seem to be a widespread problem. So if I were you, I'd go directly to the 10.0b setup file you download from this site and see what happens.

You do not absolutely need to uninstall SF9. Different versions of SF can co-exist and even run at the same time without issue.
